EDDINGTON ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY

Observing Events

"EAS" organises practical observing events. Some of these events are listed in the 'Events Program', are open to the public, and are intended to have a public relations element. Venues are chosen to reflect this. For example, at Kendal Castle, approx 60 people gathered with us to see an eclipse of the Moon.

Please feel welcome to come along and meet us at these events.

Viewing events are also organised on an informal/ad hoc basis for, and by, interested members only. Numbers attending these events are relatively small, allowing more freedom in choice of venue, and allowing members to concentrate on observing rather than on 'PR'.

In South Cumbria, we are lucky to have reasonably dark skies which allow us to see the Milky Way and many deep sky objects which are typically not visible from many urban locations.
